RULES OF COMPETITION
The Elk Grove Soccer Club (EGSC) is organized into two main programs: recreational and travel. Within those two programs, teams play at different age groups and different leagues. For this reason, it is important, and it is the sole responsibility of the official, to know the Rules of Competition for the particular match in which we are assigned, and ensure that the Rules of Competition we are following are the most current. To help, we have included some of them below:
Overall EGSC Referee Rules (These are the overall standards and expectations for officials refereeing EGSC matches)
EGSC Outdoor Rules (The EGSC Outdoor Rules are applicable for all Recreational league matches. They are variations of the FIFA and USSF Laws of the Game with minor, but notable modifications)
EGSC Indoor Rules (The EGSC Indoor Rules are applicable for all Recreational Indoor league matches)
FIFA AND USSF LAWS OF THE GAME
The USSF Laws of the Game are a reproduction of the FIFA Laws of the Game. While the two documents have the same Laws, the FIFA version has additional descriptions and interpretations on how to apply the Laws of the Game.
YOUNG SPORTSMAN'S SOCCER LEAGUE
The YSSL rules are applicable for Boys Travel teams playing in the YOUNG SPORTSMAN'S LEAGUE.
ILLINOIS WOMEN’S SOCCER LEAGUE
The IWSL rules are applicable for Girls Travel teams playing in the Illinois Women’s Soccer League.
